Reese's Peanut Butter Cup Skirt

So I am forging ahead with my goal of creating a Vanellope von Schweeetz cosplay...

It's been both surprisingly less complicated and more complicated than I expected. Some of the parts of the costume that I thought were going to be the most difficult part turned out to be particularly easy. Just a little spray paint will do the trick for the leggings, which I was certain were going to be the death of me. The wig though, the wig I am pretty much going to have to construct using two separate wigs/extension pieces and some pretty heavy duty hardware...which I am super excited about!!! Although you may have to listen to me complain about it later.

I have started construction on her skirt. It is essentially a layered Reese's Peanut Butter Cup wrapper. To be honest there was way more math as part of that project than I anticipated. Math is not my strong suit, at all. I have decided to contract my skirt a lot like Mark W. Gray did in his YouTube tutorial. Poster board, DuctTape, and Velcro will be my weapons of choice. I will use the poster board as a filler to stiffen the chocolate colored duct tape. Should take some serious time which is excellent because I have no plans for my weekend!

I love rulers. They help make everything so perfect!

This is my pattern, now only 20 more to go of each size! Those twenty points should provide a full skirt for my Vanellope! BTW, yes that is a protractor people. And yes, even worse than that I had to have someone remind me how to use it because...let's be honest, I haven't even looked at one of those thingys since 10th grade Geometry Honors.

 Cutting, cutting, cutting away.

Titan found the perfect location for
watching me watch Intervention and cut skirt pieces.

I'm so excited to work on it this weekend and I will post pictures as soon a it is finished!

I have ordered my wig/hair pieces so I will start working on those next week. It will take me a little bit of time since I will have to construct the hardware to fit underneath the wig. Intrigued yet? Oh, it should be an adventure!!! As always, stay exceptionally chic & exquisitely geek!
