Artist Introduction: Paul Fryer

As a theatre major, I typically do not see or become interested in visual artists like A2-D2 does.  Paul Fryer's 2008 installation "Lucifer (Morning Star)" was different and sent me on a search for his other works. Paul Fryer currently lives and works in London and his work in 2008 is often inspired by religious themes. Here are the photos that made me delve deeper into his work:

Lucifer (Morning Star) was an installation in 2008 at the Holy Church in Marylebone. The dichotomy of the darkness of the sculpture itself against the natural and artificial light in this piece is breathtaking.  I also enjoy the juxtaposition of "light" and "dark" religious elements to this piece.  Lucifer (Morning Star) is made of "anodised aluminium, silicon rubber cord, wax work figure, feathers, aluminium, concrete. Dimensions Variable (approx 4100mm x 6000mm x 7000mm)." (sic from Paul Fryer's Official Blog).
