High 5! It's the 5th!

The Captain and I are getting closer and closer to B-Day (think D-day but for baby).  I, as the ultra organizer, have been making list after list of what we need to get accomplished before B-Day hits; however, this has backfired...now I'm just super stressed about what needs to get done before B-Day!!  So, The Captain has been trying to help de-stress me and I'm going to use today's high 5 to tell you 5 things that were great about my week...despite the lists...

1) I pampered myself!  Everyone keeps reminding me that once B-Day hits, I won't think of myself and I'll never sleep.  So, instead of dwelling on the negative, I decided to take myself out for a mani/pedi.  Just so you know...I choose nail colors solely on their name (more or less).  So, I'm currently decked out in "I'm not Really a Waitress" by O.P.I.

2) I finished all of my Thank You Cards!!! I know this sounds silly, but when you've started making these never ending to-do lists, it's so nice to be able to cross something off!  I've been blessed with multiple showers to welcome Amelia into the world, and I am finally caught up with the thank you cards - yay.

3) I know you're going to groan, but I was actually excited about Peter Pan Live on NBC yesterday (Thursday).  I think that choosing a show that wasn't quite as culturally engrained in the viewing audience because of a movie adaptation was a good move on NBC's part, and casting "lesser" stars was also a good decision.  Though I will admit that I couldn't stay awake for the entire thing (I'm super sleepy and pregnant, it just happens), I was quite impressed with what I did see.  Last year, my Facebook and Twitter blew up with my theatre friends criticizing or "hate watching."  I've only seen a few snarky comments from my theatre friends, but I guess I'll find out Friday morning what the final verdict was from my theatre community buddies.

4) I'm almost done with my first "from scratch" cross stitch! A few weeks ago, I blogged about the pattern for my first self-designed cross stitch; my goal is to finish it and report back to you on next week's family Wednesday. Please don't be too mad if I can't hold true to that goal.

5) I got my pictures in from my Louisiana baby shower, and I loved seeing them.  I mean, really, is this not the cutest diaper cake you've ever seen?

I hope that you can all find a few bright moments in your week regardless of your stress level! Until next time, stay exceptionally chic and exquisitely geek!

  1. Love the nail color! I'm going to get my nails done today after almost 2 months of not having them done. I am VERY excited to get pampered!
