Chaos of Cthulhu

It is no secret that table top games are huge right now and this is one that I could actually play! I ran into Travis at GEEK'd Con last weekend. We actually bonded over not being able to find the vendor/press entrance so when I found him posted up at his demo table I knew I needed to see what his product was all about, and I am sure glad I did.

Chaos of Cthulu is a Necromicon mix-and-match dice game where individuals battle to build the strongest "hybrid abomination" to battle.

They have decided to independently fund their project to maintain a quality material for the game components. There is something I respect so much about wanting to make a great product for your consumers!  Independent ain't easy, but man, it can be totally worth it!

"A pantheon of Elder Beings from the mind of H. P. Lovecraft has been unwittingly set loose in the basement of the teenager next door. The catch? The Necronomicon, or Book of the Dead, used to summon the creatures was torn asunder in an argument between the teen and her friends. The stars are definitely not aligned, the essential grimoire has been mended with tape, and the monsters appear as hybrid abominations, eager for the chaos of battle. The tournament to find the strongest amongst them begins...

Take hold of the damaged tome and summon forth a unique Lovecraftian nightmare, mix-and-matched from 6 different Old Ones and Dark Minions. Then clash in strategic dice battle to be the first to assemble a fully matched monster. Part strategy, part luck…all madness!"

I find this Kickstarter to be one of the more promising I have viewed lately. The game is for ages 10+ and only lasts for 15 to 30 minutes. I know that when we try and play a family game we lose little man's attention in a matter of seconds so the more concise the game play the better.  Plus, from an educator's perspective this opens a great dialogue about probability.

Each box comes with everything you could need to enjoy this game with your friends or family...and of course their are upgrades available as well. They recently met their Kickstarter goal, but we all know that there are so many unexpected costs with a production like this so I urge you guys to take a look at their Kickstarter page, check out their promotional video, and possibly invest in some great tabletop fun.

Until next time, and as always, stay exceptionally chic & exquisitely geek!
