Fandoms in Your Cup

As you can probably surmise from my participation in #100CupsofTea, I'm a bit of a junkie when it comes to tea. I have my old favorites, but I'm always looking for something new to make my tea box exciting! That's why I want to talk about a trend that I'm loving -fandom teas. That's right, brewers are now making teas themed to your favorite fandom!
I have two shops to tell you about that I love for different reasons. First off: Geeky Teas.

This shop has a tea for the major fandoms, brews for those of us who wish to live at Downtown Abbey, and brews for us who battle Dragons with cards. They are a small group of tea enthusiast who make wonderful loose tea blends. My favorite of theirs at the moment is the Goblin King blend. This company had products as well so you could truly create a unique gift for yourself or a friend!

Another company jumping on the fandom tea train is Adagio Teas. Though a bigger company, they are hosting smaller tea makers to create custom blends for fans. The blends at Adagio Teas run a wider array of fandoms due to their ability to serve as a host for tea artists. This also means that for larger fandoms (Doctor Who and Sherlock) you have multiple "stores" within Adagio that blends with that fandom in mind. What makes Adagio Teas appealing is their packaging.
I will admit that I haven't been able to try many of the teas from Adagio because of the sheer number. Right now, my cup is alternating between "Earl Grey, Hot." And "The Goblin King." Both from Geeky Teas. What's in your cup?

  1. I really want to order tea from both of those places. I've just been using some plain green tea from the supermarket, but I want some fun, fandom-inspired tea flavors.

    1. Danielle, I am more of a black tea drinker and haven't tried any of the green teas. Let me know if you try one and what you think - I love green tea, but it isn't my "everyday drink".

  2. I've only ordered one fandom tea, a mix from Adagio Teas: Felix Felicis from Harry Potter. It's so tasty! On another random note, I have that Tardis tea steeper (got it as a gift from a friend last year) and I find it works TERRIBLY. Basically all my tea floats out through the holes. Unfortunate, but it does look nice on my shelf!

    1. It's so hard to find a tea ball/steeper that doesn't do that! (well, at least one that's cute). I buy t-sac bags from amazon. You can get them here: (sorry for the long link!!
