Galentine's Day

Galentine's Day was introduced on Parks and Rec during season two by the beloved Leslie Knope.

As many of you may remember, we had a bit of a family tragedy last year on Valentine's Day and very unexpectedly said farewell to The Ninja's grandmother. We decided to move Valentine's Day for us, you know...bump it one day ahead or one day behind the 14th. I instantly suggested we celebrate on the 15th instead of the 14th, you know...because of clearance candy and all.

Just because you buy it on sale does not mean you don't love them full price.

Then I had a moment of brilliance, if we weren't celebrating on the 13th I could still celebrate Galentine's Day and... I'll be honest, I love any good excuse for brunch with my beloveds.

“Oh, it’s only the best day of the year. Every February 13th my lady friends and I leave our husbands and our boyfriends at home and we just come and kick it back breakfast style. Ladies celebrating ladies. It’s like Lilith Fair, minus the angst, plus frittatas.”

I mean we all need to celebrate our girlfriends. There is no other group of people I know I can depend on as much as those girls, so how will we will celebrate each other?

and probably gifts.

Here are some of my ideas for lovely gifts for your beloved besties!

I hope that you enjoy your Galentine's Day and celebrate it with those you love. Even if you can't all seem to get together send them a text and remind them how important they are to you. I know that I've been leaning on "my girls" a lot lately, and I'd be a big ball of mess without them. Valentine's Day isn't just about romance, it is also just about love. Happy Wednesday everyone! As always, stay exceptionally chic & exquisitely geek!
